A senior-level executive with diverse leadership experience, Rear Admiral Rick Williams commanded Navy Region Hawaii and Naval Surface Group Middle Pacific from 2013 through 2015. Previously, he held several key leadership positions within the U.S. Navy, including assignments with Commander Destroyer Squadron 26 and directing maritime operations supporting Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. Rear Admiral Rick Williams most recently served as commander of Carrier Strike Group 15.

A graduate of the Rochester Institute of Technology, he received a bachelor of science in business administration and was commissioned as a surface warfare officer through Navy ROTC. He also holds a master of arts in national security and strategic studies from the Naval War College and a master of business administration from the University of Maryland, and he completed the MIT Strategic Security Seminar XXI Fellowship.

Active in his local community, he supports charitable causes that include the American Red Cross, and he partakes in outdoor activities such as skiing, golf, and running.
